BankLink Coding Report
The BankLink Coding Report is the simplest and fastest way do your books. It doesn't involve computers or accounting jargon - it's a simple report that lists the extra bits of information that your Accountant needs.
Each month your Accountant receives your bank transaction data electronically and reviews your transactions. For some entries, such as cheques, they may require additional information from you, and will send you a BankLink Coding Report to complete: by post, email or fax - whichever method you prefer.
The BankLink Coding Report lists the transactions that your Accountant requires additional information on to process. When you receive it, you simply fill in what each transaction was for or who it was paid to, before returning it to your Accountant who will take care of the rest.
Using the BankLink Coding Report dramatically reduces the administration time required to do your accounting. There's no data entry for you and it greatly speeds up the processing of your accounts freeing up our time so that we can focus on building your business instead just filing your returns.
To use BankLink Notes you need to speak to your BDO Spicers contact who will provide an authority form for you to complete. The form is sent to your bank for signature verification and once approved, your bank will forward a secure, electronic copy of your statement information to BDO Spicers.
Bank Link Notes
BankLink Notes makes doing your accounting a simple task. You don't need any accounting skills and you don't need to spend hours at your computer keying in data. And best of all, BankLink Notes is recommended by accountants!
Each month your Accountant receives your bank transaction data electronically and reviews your transactions. For some entries, such as cheques, they may require additional information from you, and will email you a BankLink Notes file to complete. When you receive your BankLink Notes file, all you need to do is type a short description of what each transaction was for, or select from a list of your regular suppliers (called Payees). Then you email the file back to your Accountant.
To read your BankLink Notes file, you will need to install the BankLink Notes software onto your computer. This software and all software updates are provided by your Accountant.

Bank Link Books
If you would like to be more involved in your business accounting process, BankLink Books is for you. It dramatically reduces the time you spend entering and coding transactions, so you can focus on running your business.
Each month your Accountant emails you a BankLink Books file. This file lists all of your bank or financial institution transactions for the current month. You code each transaction to the appropriate income or expense category using the chart of accounts that your Accountant has provided, or from your own list of regular suppliers (called Payees).
In BankLink Books you can 'memorise' recurring transactions such as bank charges, loans and regular bills, so that the next time they appear they are coded automatically for you. You can use BankLink Books to track how your business is performing, by running a range of reports including Cash Flow reports, Profit and Loss statements and GST reports.
Once you've finished for the month you email your BankLink Books file back to your Accountant, who will review and complete it. Since your Accountant is using the same software as you, transferring files back and forth is quick and easy.
